When was it made?
It was made in 1982 by DIC (French) and animated by NHK (Japanese).  Although many people were involved in it's construction Jean Chalopin and Bernard Deyries were the heads of the project.  It was based very loosely on a book by Scot O Dell called "The Kings Fifth"

When was it on TV?
UK - 1986 on BBC One and again in 1989, take note the second time around 2 of the episodes when they discovered the cities of gold (37 + 38) weren't shown.  Also on The Children's Channel in 1995.
USA - Numerous times in 1987/88 on Nickelodeon.  The last showing was a MCoG 'marathon' which concluded with the final 4 hours on one 'Super Saturday'.
France - First shown in 1983 on France 2,  currently airing at the moment on France 2 at 8.40am (CET) Saturday mornings.
Australia - In the late 80's on ABC.
Poland - Last shown summer 98 on RTL7
Turkey - In the late 80's and last shown summer 98 on TRT International.
Canada - Showing from the 16th June weekdays at 16.30 on SRC (SRC is a French speaking channel though)

My MCoG 'review' is turning out to be much bigger than I thought it would be,  I should be finishing it soon though...
